Inspired by everything a compilation can constitute, Sound of Berlin has come up with their very own concept: ‘Berlin Undercover’, a tribute of cover versions spanning over four decades from the 1970s prog-rock and 1980s new wave to the 1990s trance and the noughties downtempo – all brought to the 21st century and turned into one ginormous dose of big-room grooves, pulsing electro-funk, glittery synth-pop, smoky deep house, and throbbing techno. Berlin underground style.

Dutch duo Esteble aka Joep Esseling & Bram Harmsen made their first Anjunadeep appearance with ‘Passage’, the opening track to last Autumn’s iTunes Dance #1 compilation ‘Anjunadeep 07’. ‘Passage’ now sees a release on the pair’s full label debut, the diverse ‘Feathers EP’ featuring four tracks showcasing their intricate composition and deft melodic touch.

The EP opens with ‘Feathers’ a brooding electronic gem, weaving delicate melodies with clever instrumentalism, above a warm textured bassline. ‘Passage’ is a fine example of the duo’s raw organic sound, a skilled soundscape layering soft melodies with natural elements.

Next up ‘The Walk’, an upbeat cinematic groover with as much dynamism as the title would suggest. Closing off the EP ‘Soaring’ is a more dance floor minded production with a stripped back feel combining slick percussive elements with interspersed arpeggios.

After their acclaimed March outing "Babylon", the otherworldly Abe duo reappear on Sinners with two new sonic masterpieces.

Starting off with the unhurried "Across The Storm" composition, which features echo drenched atmospheric layers and sharp arpeggio parts. The swinging clap is a great accentuation to the minimalistic groove. Growling sub frequencies and mesmerising pads complete the track in flawless style.

The flip side offers a slightly more dance floor oriented offering. "Gravity Field" is a cutting edge techno production, with driving hats and an enormous bassline. Morphing vocal chunks build around tense arpeggios and appealing chords. The well crafted break down will surely bring memorable moments to festivals and night clubs alike.
