MUDDY's played piano since he was small & recently picked up a guitar. He makes Lo-Fi synth chill dance music, in a plethora of styles; including: Pop, House, Trance, Trip Hop, Hip hop & rap & Jazz & Blues. Trying to create the ideal chill sound. Emulating heroes like Daft Punk, Orbital & Dr. Dre.

Collabs with [actual] guitarist, Ben Smith, [sensational] singer, Rosie Harborne & [sound] producers, Dan Clarke, Jasper Wilde, David Corney & Josh Curtis at Key Changes add an extra level. MUDDY got his first turntables in 2001 with a stack of vinyls, & collected NRG Trance & Hard House Music. These days he buys albums from Rough Trade & the combinations are incendiary!

He was diagnosed hypo-disinhibited in 2001 & dropped out of Cambridge University. One-to-one lessons in High Street Kensington led onto a final year at Pembroke College & a degree without honours, 2003.

MUDDY started producing in 2004, on an Acer with a cracked copy of Reason 2.4.

In supported housing from 2006. MUDDY got a cracked version of Logic Express in 2007. & played some gigs in Old Street. He qualified as an FA Level 1 coach in 2014 & moved to his first council flat in 2015 in Notting Hill.

His mental illness still dominated his life, however, until in 2021 the correct diagnosis: schizo-affective disorder resulted in new treatment & relative stability. He got a MIDI keyboard & a new Mac with Logic Pro.

Producing on Reason & Logic & mixing on two serviced Technics turntables are fun hobbies & there's no doubt he's got a touch, sadly much of the old work only exists online now as mp3s. Some tunes were published by Tunecore 2023-24 in a now defunct contract that really didn't suit MUDDY well. Leaving the recent stuff. I know Rosie is keen to start gigging!!! Ben's on tour, lookout for Smith & Brewer near you!!! MUDDY is working on a new project with Josh Curtis at the moment; one week into a three week program that involves 3 hours in the studio.
