Sueno | Francisco Tarrega

I composed this piece for a string trio with piano accompaniment, “The Day After” is a haunting piece about the absolute injustice of the war against Ukraine. Much of what is happening reminds me of my grandfather’s stories about the suffering he endured when his homeland Czechoslovakia was invaded during the Second World War.

It is beyond spiritual comprehension why the people of Ukraine have to endure this level of suffering because of one man’s agenda to subjugate Ukraine, tearing down its statehood.

I am a musician, I am not a fighter, this piece of music is my way of standing in solidarity with the Ukraine.

The Day After

“The Boy Who Was Misunderstood” is a deeply emotive solo guitar piece that speaks to the longing, isolation, and quiet resilience of those who feel unseen. With haunting melodies and delicate phrasing, Wesley captures a story of introspection and unspoken struggles, weaving raw emotion into every note. This piece invites listeners into a world of melancholy and beauty, where the music says what words cannot.


The Boy Who Was Misunderstood

The 'On The Moon' album has been an amazing journey for me. The initial inspiration allowed me to compose all six works over the course of a three week school holiday (during a break from teaching:-).

Almost 8 exhausting months later, which was a very intense learning experience. On The Moon is the final result and I hope you find the songs in this album as beautiful as I do.

This piece is meant to express a sense of finality and the void that remains when something precious fades away. It’s a reflection on the nature of endings and what it means to confront them.
