In a day and age where most teenagers are more concerned with the hottest app than their career, there are few that are as ambitious, passionate, and driven as Ashtyn Skyes is toward their dreams. A
14-year-old, born and raised in Colorado, singer, songwriter, musician, and performer, Ashtyn has her sights set to the “skyes.” Coming to learn the world, she was inspired by watching and learning from those strong, female role models in the music world. Ashtyn wanted to emulate her idols, and hit the ground running.

The dynamic and ever-changing beats of pop music, layered with the power vocals of artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, and Sia caught her ear and fueled her passion for one day becoming an influential figure in the lives of young women throughout the world. In September of 2015, Ashtyn began to record her tracks professionally in a studio, releasing her most popular song, Dance Floor, a spacey and melodic pop track, which includes her highly developed vocals. Dance Floor, with its light and plucky synths seems a snug fit with her voice, but listeners can tell that she’s holding back the power in her voice; a true demonstration of her talent.

Although many of her songs are based around piano and the guitar, and after learning a bit about composition in the studio, her innate drive for complete creativity took to the next step, production.

Using one of the most popular programs for beginner music producers, Garage Band, Ashtyn composed two songs, titled, Cliché Fairytale and If You Tell Me That You Love Me. Like a mix between Rihanna and Sia, Ashtyn’s vocals are equal parts power and range with a poppy R&B feel. And range is right. In one of her other hits, Untouchable, Ashtyn lays down hard hitting hip hop rapping and lyrics with her long and melodic vocals.

In order to understand her, you must understand the people that stand behind her. Managed by her father, Doug Brugge, she’s poised to take her blossoming career by storm. “His guidance is beyond a want, but something that I need, to not only keep me focused and determined, but have my best interest at heart, as any family member would. I don’t think you can find better management than family, and my dad’s the best,” said this bright and gifted young lady. Like most young women her age, outside of the recording booth, you’ll find her doing her hair and makeup in new styles and looking her best.

Her talent is just the first step, but to get known by the industry is a barrier that many fail to break. She
sees herself in front of thousands, on stage, with a microphone in her hand and a song in her heart. Her
music and voice is on par with many commercial hits, and the energy of a rocket behind it. With the great management that she has and some sizzling new tracks on top it, you may just want to say,

“Watch out world, there’s a new star in the Skyes!”
