Kevin used to refer to this cool song of his as "Toby Keith" AKA...
Not being a Toby Keith fan as the Lyrics say as much :)
Another interesting well written song, both musically & Lyrically.

Learn to Unlearn

This powerful track of Kevin's was recorded by Brooks McPhail (RIP)a few years ago at his studio in Ipswich. Alex Russell also from Molly Cliff, played the drums on this track. The track was never truly mixed down before Brooks passed away.
Kevin was so hurt by the loss of his friend & at a loss for words.
We couldn't get access to the original tracks after the tragedy but found a link from an old e-mail from Kev, was able to extract this mix.

The Shooter

Originally an A.C.C. (Auto Climax Control) tune that Kevin eventually sang on. Vocals had never been laid down on the track, it was open for any interpretation. The theme was of passive aggressive behavior - a family member had reminded Kevin of 'Sally Struthers' from an old informercial. 
We never finished it, wrangled what I could to make a mix as the music world needs more of his voice in it, his wit, him.

Portland - Kevin Colgan, 49, died on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Kevin was born on December 12, 1971 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John G. Colgan and Molly Colgan Donovan. He  graduated in the Class of 1990 from Northampton High School, in Northampton, MA. After graduation, Kevin moved out west to pursue music. He played and recorded in Los Angeles, then moved to Portland, Oregon. There he joined the band Molly Cliff, later formed Sharon America, and ultimately Western Family. He wrote and recorded some amazing albums and performed his original songs in venues across the country. Music was always central to Kevin’s existence. He was an exceptionally talented guitar player with a beautiful voice, but it was his capacity to weave poetry with melody, harmony and innovative chord progressions that defined his songwriting.
