BB maintains the Montreal-Melbourne connection with this new one from Ennio Styles’ Heard and Felt label. Also based in Melbourne, Jonny Faith has been more known for hip hop and broken beat in recent times, featuring in Gilles Peterson's Best of 2020 with music from his 'Night Lights' EP. Now Jonny takes one of the tunes from that EP and reframes US MC Lady K’s slinky soulful rap and hooks with a funky junglist groove. This new version is from 'On Lock', surprisingly Jonny’s first full jungle/D&B EP, despite having roots in the music going back to 1990s Edinburgh, and putting out a variety of beats since the early 2000s. He even shared labels with Peshay, Om Unit, Reso and Kid Drama along the way. Elsewhere on the EP 'Open My Eyes' sounds like Amerie’s '1 Thing' gone jungle, 'Create' is atmospheric drumfunk for the headz and 'Nuthin' But a Jungle Thang' is a vinyl-only flip of a G-funk era classic. The scene has emraced Jonny Faith's take on jungle/D&B, with love from Hospital Records, Rupture (Rinse FM) and René LaVice (BBC), as well as his previous supporters like Andrew Jervis (Bandcamp Weekly) and Rob Luis (Tru Thoughts).In keeping with the label’s name and ethos, a handful of the 150 vinyl copies will come with a die-cut ’Nuthin’ But a Jungle Thang’ felt cover with embroidered Heard and Felt logo tag.

This is possibly one of the rarest records we've ever remastered/repressed, going for not-so-small fortunes on Discogs. Well not anymore, 'cause now you can get it here, remastered and repressed. 

And I guess people really, really wanted it 'cause holy moly this just might be the highest selling single record we've put out since we started doing vinyl again. 

This is another presale, being pressed to order (and it's a BIG order). No idea exactly when presales will be closing, so if you haven't yet snagged yours yet hit the buy link, 'cause no matter how many we end up pressing this one IS going to sell out. Like, not even kidding, we've already had to up the run multiple times, it's kind of ridiculous. 

And no small wonder either, this is an amazing release, one that should have a home in the crates of every oldskool or jungle DJ active today.

Mr. Mitch follows up his popular 'Devout' album with this extended EP of great remixes by his producer friends. Each artist really shows off their ability to turn their hand to making strong pop music. Mechatok kicks off proceedings with catchy opaque chords and glistening tones on his gorgeous remix of 'VPN' featuring Palmistry. Tarquin's remix of 'Our Love' is jubilant, with fireworks and pouring champagne fx, climaxing over a joyful melody. µ-Ziq's remix of 'My Life' has a slow-motion r&b feel, with flanged chords and a sweeping house beat. Silk Road Assassins treat 'VPN' to a widescreen trap-influenced re-rub, while Murlo picks up the energy with his take on 'Fate' featuring Denai Moore, which he switches up with a bouncy rhythm reminicent of garage, with lush flute arpeggios fluttering in the background. Perennial broken beat producer Mark Force turns 'Priority' into a focused pulsing rush, taking P Money's vocals and chopping them into brusing motivational quotes. An inspired collection.
