Wanted Step

This track started from a 2 drum loops that I chopped and separated into more tracks. Then I applied different settings to them such as EQ and distortion. For the arrangement, each elements is added at regular interval until the beat is complete. Later I added additional synths, all with a certain rhythmic feel to them.

Disquiet Junto Project 0631, "In a Silent Waveform". The assignment: take one held tone and make it dance slowly.

This was a chance to revisit something I'd done a few years back, rhythmically sequencing the drawbars of a Hammond B-3. This piece has a single chord held throughout, with the only variation in sound coming from the drawbars (and at the end, the Leslie speed).

Hammond Eggs (disquiet0631)

Sometimes you don't need music, a dance floor or a crowd to dance, you just move to what's playing in your head...

This track creates music from a single held note on the synthesizer. Many different effects are used to build the composition, deriving rhythms, beats and additional soundscapes.
But everything is derived from the single note played.

This music was inspired by the Disquiet Junto Project 0631.

Solitary Dance  (Disquiet0631)

I started from a held guitar tone, added another after a few beats, then a second voice a bit more staccato and finally - maybe I focused a bit too much on the “make it dance part” here - a beat (and a fireplace). The whole thing sounds like a breathing machine, maybe in a steel mill.
