The Assignment: Turn someone’s slow-build beat into a finished track.
I accrued more rhythm onto the infectiously groovy @x i i i x x i  track https://soundcloud.com/xiiixxi/disquiet-junto-beat-accrual-disquiet0619
Looped sections of that track, then played the e-drums live along with it using 808 sounds. Quickly picked out segments that sounded like they may work and felt lucky when they did. Did some effected vocal sounds for texture.

This week’s project is based on a text by Yoko Ono, originally published in her book Grapefruit60 years ago, back in 1964.

Ancient Stones (disquiet0643)

What sound does a stone make while aging? I know what sounds I make. Some of them are groans. Others I will leave to your imagination. As for stones, if we could hear them I'd imagine cracking and slow, harmonious drones. I replicated this with the Buchla Easel for the cracking and the Soma Terra for the droning, helped along with granular processing and some reverb.
