We're delighted to kick off 2022 by sharing 80's Dreams; a beautifully created EP by Jay Caesar and JAVO (SP) who have delivered 2 tracks of pure quality paying homage to the good years. A combination of deep, grooving basslines, 80's style synths and a vocal cut that holds a special place in the hearts from JAVO's father.

On remix duties this time round we're privileged to have French maestro Vitess join the Lacuna family, delivering his signature sound we all love packed with bright chords, synths and plenty of groove. On the flip side we have Argentina's Nacho Bolognani with a deep, bass driven rolling track that is set to wobble speaker systems across the globe.

Italian artists Francesco Parente and Josh Kalker team up with vocalist David Blank as they get set to release Lost In Paradise on Hot Creations. Upcoming UK producer Wheats is also onboard to deliver a solid remix.

An infectious bassline entices you from the start on Lost In Paradise, as the uplifting chords and sensual tones of David Blank’s vocal make an invigorating and euphoric ride for the dancefloor. On the remix, intricate drum patterns set the pace. Minimal undertones bubble throughout, as the track unfolds with hypnotic vocal cuts, leading to a buildup that will be sure to make the crowd erupt. 

Francesco Parente started producing at the age of sixteen and soon received support from the most respected artists in the underground scene like Nicole Moudaber and Marco Carola. In 2017 Francesco started playing in the famous clubs in his region followed by international bookings and support from his mentor Loco Dice, leading to releases on labels like Rawtentic, CUFF and HOTTRAX. Josh Kalker is influenced by the house and techno of the 90s. Since working full time in the studio and DJing in Europe, Josh has had the opportunity to release on labels such as La Pera Records, Nervous, Lost, Roush, Safe, Cryminal Hype, and many more. His music is supported by heavy-weights including Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Wade and Michael Bibi.

Wheats has become one of the most exciting new artists, sitting at the forefront of the UK’s surging wave of rising DJs and producers making an impact on the global scene. Releasing cuts on Hottrax, Kaluki, Circus and Solid Grooves, Wheats enjoys the backing of some of the biggest names in the underground scene.

Italian native Cristina Lazic returns to Rebellion following her recent release on the Souls Vol.2 VA last year. And now the rising star delivers an accomplished three-track EP for the Crosstown Rebels sub-label.

Talking about the release, Cristina explains: “Burning is an EP that will accompany people in a variety of situations - from introspective journeys in moments of reflection, to social gatherings with friends and all the way to the dance floor. It consists of three tracks that contain a mix of minimal sounds with groovy bass, with female / male catchy vocals and unique elements full of surprises.” Delving further into the creation of the EP she reveals: “In Mirror I was inspired to include a guitar tone after listening to the great track “Taff” by Leonidas and Traumer; Jazzy Feeling is the result of an effort to combine minimal with funk and jazz music. Finally, with the lead track Burning I wanted to obtain a happy dance floor sound to make people dance, including unexpected elements, like seventh chords.”

In the title track Burning, a playful bassline drives the track as floaty vocals ride throughout the dreamy layers of chords and percussion. Jazzy Feeling is deep and powerful with a solid bassline, infectious vocals and an inspiriting atmosphere. Last up, Mirror rounds off the EP, once again demonstrating Cristina’s adept skill for creating hypnotic layers, sensual tones and rolling dancefloor music that can also be enjoyed anywhere at any time.

Born in Milan and raised in London, Cristina Lazic started playing the piano when she was six and grew up composing music. Emerging into the spotlight only four years ago, Cristina has performed at iconic clubs and festivals around the world. She also caught the attention of Pioneer DJ Italy, who chose her as an ambassador and example for aspiring female DJs. Her releases can be found on Bondage Music, Creature Records and Rebellion.
