Acoustic guitar, slight hip hop influence, falsetto against the tenor voice, crunk rap elements, storytelling verses back to back and unique but standout ad libs make “Chill With Me” one of the most unexpected but incredible singles from “The Liberation Of Reginald Williams”. Originally planned for the deluxe edition, this is one of Reggie’s most distinctive and pleasant. The hook sounds like something from a 90’s movie soundtrack while remaining ear pleasing and wonderfully compliments the guitar. The verses are honest, raw and beautifully displays sensitivity and vulnerability. Reggie not only sings and raps, he channels Kelis and screams his ad libs. Strangely enough, it works and enhances the vibe. With all the different layers, overall this is another stellar piece of work and follows up “Ballad” quite nicely. The “Can you take your time with me?” intro/outro is bound to get stuck in your head. #CHILLWITHME

Reggie is a force in R&B and hip-hop, combining signature smooth vocals with funky 90’s style raps. Born Reginald Marcell Williams, the North Carolina native credits Michael Jackson, Prince, Tupac, Aaliyah, Drake, Missy Elliott & Dino Conner from H-Town as a few of his inspirations. Writing and performing since a teenager in various different groups, he has dabbled in gospel, rock, trap, and pop. “I was in various bands and we pretty much covered different artists,” he told Apple Music. After his father’s untimely passing in August of 2021, he began to put the final touches on his debut album, “The Liberation Of Reginald Williams”. While delivering traditional R&B such as the evocative of “Ballad” to the meticulously crafted “Chill With Me”, it’s precise and impressively laidback. From the fan favorite first single, the atmospheric “Around U” (Remix) to the slick, slow burning yet sexy “Wait 4 U”. The emotional but vengeful “Traces” is a standout about a relationship turned sour but jumps right into the club ready “I Like”. Showcasing a natural tenor with range from a stirring lower register to a sharp falsetto, bringing the lyrics out like gems and exhibiting timeless music. Known for his interpretative skill and powerful storytelling, Reggie uses his life experiences and past silences to convey the electro-funk and sonic diversity that makes up his debut. The album is soulful, silky, forward thinking and introspective. The 15 track album includes 3 radio edits while the deluxe edition features the radio friendly “Nourish”, the Aaliyah/Timbaland-esque “Around U” and the undeniable fan favorite “The Liberation” (Outro). Reggie is set to begin work on his sophomore album, “The Depression” and to hold his loyal fan base over, he released “The Elevation” EP in January.  Still, the journey of his fight for freedom—his smooth voice and compelling-futuristic lyrics—will continue until the fight is won.
