Since the day I was 14 and purchased The Sugarcubes' 12" vinyl of Coldsweat, my love affair with Björk and all that she unleashes unto us bleeds into something I have never really felt for any other artist. I've done several "fan remixes" over the years but never shared them since I honestly never quite felt they were worthy of her or her fans' approval...until now. Admittedly upon first listen to The Gate I felt it was naked and that quickly became what I loved the most about the track. Not only are the lyrics beautiful, the structure of the song allows for someone like me to fully give an appropriate musical interpretation. Ultimately I'm not concerned if anyone else likes my take on the track because it was a very personal experience working on it for the last few days. Of course I would hope Björk herself somehow gets to hear it and it would be a dream simply to get the simplest approval from her...but I feel I finally created a "remix" worthy of sharing...hopefully xo
