1. What was the idea behind the set?
The set was for our playdate 004. It was just after midnight, cold and dark outside and I wanted to get everyone dancing and really heat things up.

2. What is your favorite producer atm?
As you can hear in the set I am quite a fan of DJ Daddy Trance, also I am thrilled about Mac Declos atm and in general the ‘mama told ya’ label, and for sure forever in love with Alpha Tracks!

3. Why did you become a dj?
We used to have a busy drum and bass and dubstep scene in Darmstadt, which was my first real contact with electronic music. In the Rhine-Main area there is of course a lot to discover and I loved it and felt always totally taken by the energy. So, the idea to try it myself had been there for a long time, but the real key moment was when I saw Mall Grab at WAS. in Utrecht and his positive energy spilled over into the whole crowd and he just created such a killer atmosphere. At that point I knew: I want to be able to do that too!

4. Which celebrity would you take with you to eat oysters at the KaDeWe?
I would go out with Beyoncé, sit at the bar, sip some oysters and show her the ‘halo mix’.

We are super excited to be running our 2022 radio series in partnership with the lovely people at 1020 Radio to showcase talent from members of the WPG community on the airwaves. 💫

We will be broadcasting this series every second Sunday this year, 17:00 UK time . 📡

Each month will be with a different host, with a range of interviews, show concepts and genres in the pipeline. 🎧

Our August host is Valeria, sharing tracks she's been playing out recently. "This time since clubs re-opened has been absolutely nuts and I’m soaking in every second of it. It’s so good to be back!"

Valeria is an Italian/German DJ and producer based in Heidelberg, Germany. Described by many as subtly flashy, Valeria always seems to find the right balance of poise and nuance in her high energy sets. Valeria is a resident at one of the most distinctly-different-dance-bars Germany has to offer: Hunter Thompson Saloon in Saarbrücken. While regularly hosting floors at both Silodom and Sektor Heimat, Hunter’s groovy residents release music via their “Hunter Thompson” label.

Growing up in an Italian house in Germany, Valeria’s taste is heavily inspired by the Italian music that was always being played in her childhood home. In her later teenage years, she became fascinated with Psychedelic Rock, Synth Wave, and, of course, Indie Rock. Her diverse input of music from throughout her life, has taken form in a clearly distinguishable style of electronic music. Her vast library allows her to play with a great deal of range, while always bringing that signature subtly flashy flavor!

Valeria has been an active DJ since 2019 and has already played support to artists such as DJ Boring, Ruff Stuff, and Johannes Albert.

Her releases range from Acid-House, all the way to IDM. She has released with labels such as Silodom, Hunter Thompson, and Laber Nicht Records.

Her contagious energy and love of underground culture/music has allowed her to grace some of Germany’s most iconic booths such as; Galerie Kurzweil, Hafen49, Disco Zwei, Karlstorbahnhof, and Sektor Heimat.

This is the set played by our certified 90s afficionado Inspektor Lenny at our stage in the woods at WMG Festival back in August. He started out with joyful House and Trance to match the last rays of sunlight before transitioning to more melancholic territories into the beginning of the night to prepare the floor for DJ Sweet6teen.
