The story of the song is quite personal,describes a person who is dealing with routine challenges and the traps between his rational mind and romantic heart. He means both himself and the person who has a load of mess in his brain by his words.He describes his way of thinking and himself as a man who has lots of different characters in him and wants to believe what he wants.But he also knows that he is in a cage at the end.He just tries to manipulate the situation. While directing the person he means,he claims she is certain and clear.She is "pure" as the colour pink.She thinks black but unlike his untidy characters,she has that innocence darkness.For him,she is a dream full of "reals". He is aware that she actually loves him but tired of his "unnecessary and tiring" complexity.
