Hey, today I want to answer the question which is better affiliate marketing or influencer marketing. Affiliate marketing is much, much easier than influencer marketing. 

First what the heck is influencer marketing? If you grow a social media channel and you have a boat ton of followers you become an influencer. 

Then what happens is is companies or brands will offer you a little bit of money to mention their product. 

By far the biggest challenge to influencer marketing is you need tons and tons of followers. This is going to get even more challenging in the future as everyone is fighting for attention. 

You are basically running a tv channel and making money from ads. You are competing with the big boys for the money. By far this is the hardest way to make money online. The reason this sounds attractive is because Kim Kardashian or Gary Vee have massive followers and can play in this game. 

You and me or small fish and this is why affiliate marketing is the game we play. We have the most chance of winning somewhat. So, how is affiliate marketing different than influencer marketing?

With affiliate marketing you don't need a lot of followers on a social media platform. I honestly could care less about followers and I don't compete in that game. It's just too difficult.

You want to get someone off the internet as quickly as you can and on to a list. Then you use the list to promote products to a few people. 

All you need is a few people to buy. You don't need to have millions of followers to make money like you do with influencer marketing. Plus, when they do buy you can keep a lot of the money, depending on what program your in. 

Ideally you should be in program where you sale high ticket items where all you need is a few sales per year and your done. This makes everything much, much easier.

Which sounds easier to you trying to get millions of followers and have companies pay you a small amount of money to mention a product or just sale a few products from an email list?

One of the biggest challenges to influencer marketing is changes to the platform they are using. A little change to your algorithm and your influence dies because your business relys on YouTube or Instagram. 

With affiliate marketing you own the list, so your not as much at the mercy of these platforms that are always changing. 

Another challenge is fake followers and likes. There is a whole business on buying these, plus reviews because people can make money from them. This really hurts the whole industry. The influencers lose money from people trying to cheat the system and companies are losing money as well. 

Another challenge I think as an influencer is you always have to be just on. Creating consistent shows, there is more pressure. 

With affiliate marketing, I honestly have walked away for 3 months put out nothing and I still made some good money. You can't do that with influencer marketing.
