Emerging artist Secus has announced the release of his EP "Dark Journey," an emotive and thought-provoking collection of four tracks. The EP is set to take listeners on a journey through the dark corners of the mind and the depths of the human experience. This is the debut release of his new label, Rituals, which aims to showcase Secus’ musical journey as well as the artists that inspire him.

BCCO Premiere: Conntex - Moral Ambush

Chakra journey number 4. This one starts out pretty tough in the lower sections and takes a bit to find its feet. Both Vril and Luke Slater help form a discombobulated earthly realm at the front end of this mix. By the time we get to the invocation of Architectural's masterful synth workout in 2020 Disco Clash, tickling the Solar Plexus and inviting the Heart Centre into receivership mode, we launch into some seriously sublime upper frequency activity. Robert Babicz's take on Dan Corso's New World is out of this world and sits so sweetly between the Heart and Throat Centres, launching the mix into an extended exploration around the Throat centre before illuminating in indigo dayglo brilliance the intuitive centre of the Third Eye, courtesy of OPML favourite Joachim Spieth, and the brilliant Monoloc, whose retro The Untold Way is surely an under appreciated masterpiece. Svaorg's Birds hits the Crown note beautifully to end the journey.

Hidden Recordings first release of 2019 sees longtime label boss Deepak Sharma continue to build his portfolio on the imprint with a fourth solo EP, a gritty and tense four-tracker ‘Patala’.

Patala in Hindu cosmology refers to the subterranean realms of the universe, an underworld beneath the earth.  Rising up you reach Prithvi, or the mortal plane that is earth.  Above that is Svarga, or heaven. 

Inspired by these worlds, he delivers three originals with pulsating synth lines, raw rhythmic drums with hypnotic and ethereal soundscapes.

Tadeo is widely respected and revered for his forward thinking imagination and offers a complex, powerful remix blending Detroit and Chicago techno.

Side A begins with ‘Patala’ and frenetic synths influencing the mind through airy hypnotism, exhibiting subtlety in creating a dance-floor groove.  Tadeo’s ambitious remix blossoms from the original adding new musical landscapes and marvelous sounds.

Side B starts with ‘Prithvi’ keeping you on edge between the underlying vocals scattered between a gripping baseline and off-kilter synth movements with timely off-beat drums that culminate into a dramatic show overall.  ‘Svarga’ stretches out with twisting and curving synth lines and intensifies with an ebb and flow of eerie sound and spacious atmosphere.
