Twenty Five Suite

In creating this orchestral piece I wanted to use elements of conflict and drama, and drew on an experience from my past. When I was a teenager, my extended family was torn apart by a disagreement between my Mother and her best friend. The breakup sent shockwaves through the generations and caused many battles between individuals, rupturing relationships that were once harmonious and supportive. The conflict was a deep learning experience for me, and writing this piece was a way of processing the trauma of those years.

The Magnificent

In my creative work I explore themes of healing and meditation, and I wanted to write a piece of music that alters the state of the listener. Meditation has been such a gift to me and I wrote 'Deep, Deeper Still' in an altered state of consciousness.

Tendril

I feel proud to be able to create music that is as surreal and comedic as this. I broke through barriers with this piece - it's the first time I have allowed myself to create something that is, at times, cheesy and tongue-in-cheek. Hope you enjoy it!

The Shark

What have you had to let go of in your life that hurt but ultimately was for the best? Have you found old patterns, habits or relationships were no longer serving you, forcing you to walk away?

My new single – 'Be All and End All' is about letting go of the past and the way we once were. Growth is the core of my brand. I believe in the transformational quality of music and art in human beings.

Be All And End All

Do you remember how it felt to be hugged as a child and told that everything would be OK? My new single, 'Embrace', is a further exploration on the theme of childhood. I wanted to create a piece that imitates the feeling of security and safety that some of us are fortunate enough to get as children.

Virtuoso

This is a conceptual piece of music created to be a short science fiction film. 

The track is a journey through different dimensions of space and time and is broken into three movements. 

The first movement introduces the main characters and establishes the stories atmosphere and motivation. 
The second movement is a sound design piece I created to represent traveling though space and time. 
The third movement is our arrival and represents the emotional part of the story.

Swan Song

This is a piece about contrasts in nature - dark and light, yin and yang, good and bad. I wanted to convey that we are emotionally complex beings and never only one side of the pole. We have the potential for opposites in all things. I feel like this message can get lost in our culture. If we learn to embrace our shadow I believe it will give us power and insight.

The piece was inspired by Felix Baumgartner's Supersonic free fall dive. My intention was to create a piece of music that has the feeling of free falling into earths atmosphere.

Circles, Squares And Stripes

This piece describes powerful experiences working with visualisation and meditation techniques. We live in a multilayered reality with multiple 'parts' operating simultaneously. I have carefully built this track around these concepts - giving the listener a taste of this experience.

Standing Between Worlds

The infinite is a constant theme throughout my work; it is always present in the cracks in the walls, our reflection in the water and the spaces in our body.
Growing up with a single mother that suffered with mental illness was very challenging. I could always see behind her pain was something immensely beautiful and expansive.
It can be hard to connect with the transcendent when we are so invested in the day-to-day, and the stories we tell about ourselves.
I have always been aware of the deeper, transcendent experience that is beneath the sometimes benign and mundane experience of life.
It has been challenging to start creating films for my music but is so right for me. I have realised who I am is reflected in everything I do and walking around Bristol looking for moments to capture with my camera makes me more receptive to how incredibly beautiful life is.

For me the process of making music represents a connection to the infinite. I have been so inspired by artistic movements in culture – for example the enlightenment and baroque eras. They are wonderful examples of a complete reframe of how we understand nature and ourselves. I feel are a species we are on the brink of an awakening that will completely change our experience into something much greater. Love is a infinitely powerful source of energy that we can use to structure our world into something harmonious. The world lives in our hearts and is simply a projection of the extent of the love we have for ourselves. Big love to everyone. I wanted to say a special thank you to Dr Meaker for working with me on mastering and teaching me new ways to approach my process.

Clockwork Universe

Out today! Sometimes in life we feel vulnerable and exposed to the world. I wanted to show this side to myself in this piece. The image we put out on social media is talking about our success. I love to celebrate these uptempo events in peoples lives (there is another side of course) Walking my own path can be terrifying at times. I have constant voices telling me I am nothing, no ones cares and I should give up. There is another side to that where I feel power and completely knowingness. This piece explores this schizophrenic experience we all go through in life. Its honest and raw and I hope it gives something. I have realised that giving is now my central aim with my art - giving beauty and love to others. Sending profound love, gratitude and acceptance.

David uses a variety of eastern meditation and energy practices to generate powerful physical states when creating his music. It is his belief that this energy will translate through the art form and inspire the listener, providing powerful resources to help people transcend their limitations.

Mackenzie draws on his own life story as inspiration for his music. From a young age he experienced conflict within his family; from serious mental health illnesses to fractured relationships and separations. Powerful encounters with music led to him forging his own path as a musician and composer, and he absorbed the transcendent, emotionally transformative quality of the artists he was listening to into his own work and processes.

With his brand, he is interested in exploring the depths of the human condition, challenging the zeitgeist and pushing through his own internal boundaries and discomforts to continue to grow as an artist. His vision and voice celebrates independence and stands against mediocrity and conformity.
