The resonances on those drums are the start are so evokative suggesting a tribal environment but I'm then lifted into a celestial environment, a dream state.... crazy!

A Midwinter Night's Dream

This is my version of the wonderful Opening by Philip Glass from Glassworks. It largely follows the piece as written, but I've added a a few bits of my own and not followed the structure exactly, hence slight rework.

This is one of the first pieces that caught my imagination when I began learning to play piano and it's taken till now for me to get to a point where I'm ready to share my take on it. I'm still very much a late starting learner with the piano, but hopefully there's enough here to get across the beauty of this piece of music.
