As Anton MAKe continued his assault on the underground dance scene, "Bulletproof" marked a new chapter in the Russian artist's arsenal. After a successful first volume in July 2020 in which five original tracks shone a light on Anton's skill and creativity, "Bulletproof, Vol. 2" continues the series with a trio of original tracks and a pair of high-class remixes.

Opening with the heavy rhythmic overtones of "LucyLidia", a grooved bassline quickly takes hold while percussive effects pan the stereo spectrum. A heavily modulated synth lead makes its presence felt while delicate motifs swirl hypnotically as the track evolves, reaching its melodic zenith at the breakdown before dropping back into the dense rhythmic forest in the second half. "Rotas" continues the strong percussive narrative, paired with a heavy beat. A glorious array of sumptuous pads and ‘rise and fall' arpeggio soon picks up the pace, reaching an octave pitched crescendo at the mid-point. Pausing for breath, all melodic elements then combine once more with the rhythmic backdrop to mesmerising effect in the second half. The third original track sees "Sator" make a powerful statement with a heavy, white noise infused bass pattern before complementary pads and symphonic strings filter into sonic range. Gloriously evocative, a glittering array of melodies wax and wane in gated and glissando fashion to continue a powerful and mature production narrative running through Anton's work.

Christian Wedekind needs little in the way of introduction. To the underground music fraternity, the German artist's D-Nox moniker has been a byword for quality for almost two decades, both in solo guise and with Brazilian star, Beckers. After an impressive Proton Music debut, remixing Juan Deminicis' "Life on the Moon" with ZAC, D-Nox now returns with a solo reworking of "Denouement" that bristles with dynamic verve and rhythmic prowess. Driving forward with a powerful running bassline, syncopated plucks and clever percussive integration pave the way for the central arpeggio in Anton MAKe's original to make its presence felt with a flowing ease. Delicious strings gently pulsate against the heavy beat before a new bassline makes its play at the breakdown before rhythm and melody join forces in the second half.

Sebastian Sellares has caused quite a stir on Proton Music since a debut remix of Hot TuneiK's "Circles of You" in June 2019. October 2020 then saw Sellares make his full EP debut for the label via his "Jinsei / Zen State" offering. Twin tracks of the highest quality led the way, complemented by a pair of remixes from heavyweights, Nick Muir and Matias Chilano. Now returning for the first time in 2021, the Sebastian Sellares interpretation of "Denouement" retains the original's intensity as a swathe of new production material echoes Vangelis, adding layers of undulating synths. Building with effervescent ease, traces of Anton MAKe's track are felt while the second half hits new heights through a combination of rhythmic and melodic interplay, rising in hypnotic intensity to reach an impressive conclusion.

A quintet of new productions find Anton MAKe, D-Nox and Sebastian Sellares squarely hitting the target in "Bulletproof, Vol. 2".

It's been a couple of months since I shared a rework and this is one of my all-time favourites. Obviously coming from two of the best producers around it's easy to create something decent from this source material. The original was released SEVEN years ago (can you believe that!?!?) and had a great remix back in 2014 from Fairmont. I basically made this to play in my sets but had a LOT of requests for it so here it is.

This Billie Eilish remix is the result of a natural process. I started the record with the lead sound melody and the track progressively came out together. The vocal of the track is just beautiful and breath taking. This track also shows the direction that I want to take with my productions: intense, more dancefloor, and melodic. Hope you will like it!

Petar Dundov returns to the label with a stunning new EP for 2021.

The Croatian superstar needs little introduction. His kaleidoscope sound has featured everywhere from Global Underground to Cocoon and SCI + TEC. He is a regular at mega festivals like Exit and Awakenings, plays clubs across the globe from Womb, Tokyo to FUSE in Belgium playing intelligent, genre-bending music to like minded souls.

The EP opens with 'Euklidia'. Eerie soundtrack-y ambience give way to a powerful low end and sparse percussion. Delicate keys bounce above the murkiness playfully. Growing into an ever larger wall of sound, the break midway acts as a reset before the second half growls into life. 'Intiwatana' is equally cinematic. Subtle tribal feels achor the low end as the melodics do all the heavy lifting here. Mind music par excellence.

Iconic names truly worthy of legendary status join forces across the Atlantic Ocean. Both talented as they are industrious Tim Penner and Gai Barone have no desire to "Fade Away". Through smooth arpeggiated melodies of the underworld, loquacious vocals filter into sonic range, twinkling in the moonlight and galloping into the night amidst rolling percussive waves and evolving multi-faceted sequences. European borders "Fade Away" as Rauschhaus and GRAZZE provide a new collaborative force. Dynamic intensity bristles via emotive chords and bassline power. Music has always been political. Especially electronic music. Electronic music has always been about equality and inclusion. Even though the message has been defused for a while, these days it is more important than ever.

“There are only two ways to respond: Conspiring or fighting it. That’s the message I wanted to express - in a positive way. So I started jamming with my good friend Lazarusman. And we finally finished 'Not Enough' at the end of last year for an upcoming Watergate compilation project that is due in autumn this year.” - Hyenah 

Seeing „Black Lives Matter“ finally gaining momentum we decided to release ‚Not Enough‘ earlier than planned. Mainly to support the movement. And together with Watergate Records we decided to donate all the money being made to  Know Your Rights Camp (https://www.knowyourrightscamp.com). Know Your Rights Camp is a free campaign founded by Colin Kaepernick to raise awareness on higher education, self empowerment, and instructions on how to properly interact with law enforcement in various scenarios.

We all need to fight racism. We need to fight it, wherever we may find it. Including ourselves.
