Fathers should allow their children their time of imperfection, but always be ready to impart to them tools to overcome their shortcomings and faults. Showing them that life is not about being perfect, but it's about overcoming our imperfections and knowing that they are great despite the absence of perfection.

Ray Mingo is a father, author, blogger, and speaker; holding an AAS degree in Commercial Arts and Advertisement. Ray has worked as a residential counselor for many years working with adolescents and adults with behavior issues. He has also worked as a site mentor for Philadelphia Anti-Drug/Anti-Violent Network (PAAN) under its founder and CEO the late James Mills. Ray also taught women self-defense and children self-defense/anti bullying classes for after-school programs and summer camps.
Ray has done public speaking to small audience but seeks to take his inspiring, empowering, motivational message about FATHERHOOD and social awareness to a much larger audience. Ray currently serves on the board for Daddy University one of the oldest Male Parenting Education Company, who Educates, Advocates and Support men raising Children. An organization where fathers can find information to help them through the tough times, the confusing times as well as the greatest times of their life. Headed by its President and CEO Joel Austin. He has been a featured guest on “Welcome To The Bookstore TV” a TV talk show, whose producers are Rachael Slaughter and the David (Indikator) Fuller also founder, president and CEO of DENT Damage Entertainment Network Television/Enter The Zone TV.   
    As a father of three wonderful daughters and as a son who had no involved father in his life Ray’s passion, mission, and social platform was the revitalization of FATHERHOOD. As life would have it Ray found himself not living under the same roof of either of his daughters. Of which two shared the same mother. But Ray was not going to repeat the same mistake as his father did, so despite not living with them and one having a different mother than the other two he way determined by any means right and necessary  to be an involved loving father. Apart from being involved Ray saw that one of his greatest duty was to make sure that his daughters didn’t grow up knowing of each other, but that they grew up knowing each other as sisters should. This passion was the inspiration of his first book is entitled “Who’s Your Daddy “. a book on the importance of non-residential fathers being involved in the life of their children, not just non-residential fathers but fathers who live with their children,for that matter. This book chronicles some of Ray own experiences as a single father and a son. Along with his book and blog site called “FATHERHOOD” they show his unique perspective and personal philosophy that Ray has about fatherhood. 
Ray’s second book is entitled “The Wholly BlackBook” subtitled “Kings And Queens In A Multicultural Society” This book looks at the mindset of the African American community in a multicultural society. a book of empowerment as it reveals that true empowerment is necessary for every race in order to successfully navigate and collaborate in a multicultural society. This book talks about the necessity to be self-sufficient as a race but rejects the idea of superiority and bigotry of any kind. This book seeks to dismantle crippling mindsets in order to build a more progressive empowering mindset. It about empowering a community and bringing them to the realization of the unique greatness that’s in them by staying true to their own cultures and traditions, while at the same time realizing the inherent uniqueness of other races. This Ray believes is the only way to successfully live in a multicultural society as kings and queens. 
 As a single father Ray loves spending time with his three daughters and receives his greatest rewarding in being involved and spending time with them. He considers them his greatest achievement. He loves writing, art, hiking, music and chilling at home with a cup of coffee.
