This track feels like standing still while the world spins past in a blur of filters and slogans 📱🌾 The lyrics really hit, that tired ache of constant noise, but also the quiet strength in stepping away. Gina’s delivery is grounded and human, and that dreamy groove underneath makes the whole thing feel like a gentle protest wrapped in melody. Loved how the sunset field moment just opened up, like the track exhaled. 💨 The kettle hissed, “This one boiled slow but true, that wind part? I nearly cried into my spout” 🧽 The dishwasher clicked her latch and muttered, “Refreshing to hear someone rinsing off the gunk of online nonsense” 🥶 The ice dispenser quietly said, “This track reminded me what it feels like to be real, even for a minute”.

It's not that the world of social media is inherently harmful or bad, but just that it can potentially ruin an incautious traveller. People need to remember to step outside, get some space, and re-perspectify (made up word).
This song is a rare one that contains lyrics by Mark. In fact the killer first line and title and most of the first verse are his words. What's more, the words came to him in a dream! Some get to be so lucky! And lucky for me, he gave me the lines, I took them with glee and so came this song.

Here's a song and video that's a bit of a change of pace, a crazy gangster story song from my album "Unhinged" that I recorded back in 2019. A totally made up this rock song and it has a nice riff. This is NOT one of my love songs!😂 It follows these insane bank robbers with serious mental problems! I wanted to make like a little action movie for this song. I'm always trying to make my songs into little films!😁.

    The video is new and took several days to finish since I had so many clips to edit together! I really tried to follow the song as close as I could and I even added a clip from an old Yosemite Sam cartoon of the 40's for comic relief!😂 I had a blast creating the video and I hope everyone enjoys it. This song started as many of our best do, with Chris coming up with it on his acoustic guitar. He shared it with the rest of us shortly after, and we were all very excited to tuck into it. 
  Ken was fist at the trough for this one, adding his jazzy, expressive drums. Josh came in as soon as he had a beat to work with, adding his signature fretless bass to the mix. Not long after that, JJ broke out the hauntingly melodic piano and Shine On You Crazy Diamond timbred synth you hear throughout. 
  Once it had a good structure to it, Mark came in and added the dynamic cello swells that open the song, some subtle strings, the melodic clarinet and flute, and a bit of synth pad near the end to spice up the soup a bit. He also had the great idea to ask Nyla to add some vocals, which she did in her typically dynamic and expressive way. Last, but definitely not least, we convinced Stephen to add some of his perfectly mood-setting banjo. 
  Once it was all in the can, it actually sat for several months before being revived by Chris, who also did the production and mix, expertly, as always.

  Also, this is our first time collaborating with Nyla K. We wanted to find a way to include her talents on this one, and her vocals here are magical. Watchglass are a duo who like exploring 
musical directions and having fun making songs and albums. We have been working as a partnership since 2017, or most of the time since then. Gina is the singer and lyricist. Mark is the guitarist and everything else and makes the songs and is the one who Gina will forever hold responsible for showing her she could not only sing well enough to front a band but also write passable, and sometimes even excellent songs.... Happily we found each other again after a longish split.
