'The latest release from Tash’s Movement Recordings welcomes Forniva back to the label for his debut EP. The Bosnian artist first appeared on the Greek imprint in November of 2018 with a remix of Emi Galvan’s ‘Dopamine’, while a contribution to the label’s Technical Progress, Vol. 8 collection landed in December of the same year. February of this year then yielded a well received remix of Sean & Dee’s ‘Before the Storm’. Now calling Movement Recordings a comfortable home, Forniva returns with the ‘Tinkerbell’ EP alongside remixes from Rauschhaus and Alfonso Muchacho.

The lone interpretation of ‘Tinkerbell’ is provided by Alfonso Muchacho who returns to the label for his second appearance. The UK artist has been a mainstay of the progressive underground since first arriving on the scene in 2013. With over 200 discography credits, Alfonso has showcased his music on Beatfreak Recordings, Beat Boutique and ICONYC, while earning support from the genre’s leading guard in Hernan Cattaneo. Having made his Movement debut in May of 2019 with the ‘Stranger Danger’ EP, Alfonso now returns for his first remix. Opting for a distinctly modern approach, the UK artist reshapes the groove into a wave of tension filled bass. A tight rhythmic core coupled with organic percussion and fresh electronics set the stage for a series of deadly transitions and unpredictable shifts. Otherworldly in feel, it transfers energy into a section of tripped out designs and wonky modulation, before a third act of smooth chord changes and striking tonal themes seal its brilliance.'

Premiere: Doc Brown - Invisible [SNOE]

Rival Consoles has shared a second single, 'Vibrations on a String', taken from his forthcoming new album 'Articulation', released on 31 July. 

"Vibrations on a String was one of the earliest pieces I made for the record. The title is a direct reference to the behaviour of the main synth: I was trying to mimic playing a guitar string both softly and aggressively. I think a part of me is often trying to mimic the physical world with synths. There is something mindful about observing things and making sense of them, and once you try to recreate something in a different medium it feels like there are new opportunities to explore." — Ryan Lee West

'Articulation', which follows 2018’s 'Persona', was conceived with a very visual way of thinking, unusual for the London musician and producer. During the writing process Ryan drew structures, shapes and patterns by hand to try and find new ways of thinking about music, giving himself a way to problem-solve away from the computer. The album title references a piece by the avant-garde contemporary composer Györgi Ligeti, though not for its music, but for the non-traditional graphic score that accompanied it.

Since the release of 2018's 'Persona', Ryan contributed an exclusive track 'Them Is Us' to Adult Swim’s coveted Singles series and shared the beautifully textured solo piano piece 'Winter’s Lament' on this year’s Piano Day. He has also been in high demand as a composer, scoring Charlie Brooker’s much talked about Black Mirror episode Striking Vipers, composing original music for Secret Cinema presents Stranger Things as well as renowned choreographer Alexander’s Whitley’s groundbreaking new work 'Overflow', which was set to premiere at London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre this spring.

Balance Music welcome back the Georgian production duo of siblings Michael & Levan. Earlier this year they impressively collaborated with Croatian artist Stiven Rivic on a stunning two track EP for the label. This time around, they return with two more slices of high quality productions that sit on the right side of moody house and techno. After an elegant introduction, 'Eye Candy' builds the drama with minimal drums that is sprinkled with soft percussion. A hypnotic synth glues everything together, subtly introducing a bright lead which hangs over everything like a comet. The breakdown builds beautifully into a bridge which expertly ramps the tension into a final breakdown. Once the track is in flow again, it is evident that catharsis has been achieved. On 'Portal' we are transported to a cerebral world filled with sterner beats and delicate flourishes that is a testament to Michael & Levan's studio prowess. The considerable bass should suck in anyone within 10 kilometres as it thumps it's way to a highly engaging breakdown. Once the drop happens, prepare yourself for an influx of punters who wants to know the name of the track.
