Another track from the BDOG 2021 set. sorry if the last third is too high-pitched, the gimmick of the live set was that we were raising funds for the music instrument lending library, so we were "showcasing" a quote-unquote "crappy" behringer speaker that was rented out from the library, for the live set (with dancing in the room to constitute additional live performance). That plus the additional room tone meant that we weren't too concerned about the highs when mixing.

Ugh (fine mix) (2021)

A track made for WeeklyBeats 2022, during which year I was reworking old Garageband sketches while trying to hone my sound-design process.

"Untitled desert track" v1 for WB2022.7

I took the "Sound Garden" mixing class taught buy local-to-me artist Lillian Frances in 2022. My project during this class was to polish a beat I had made for WeeklyBeats earlier that year. Leaning into, how to make a cohesive modular sound out of these very pointilistic samples and also at that time I was really trying to dig into how loops work, so there's kind of interchange that occurs in the pickup from the 4 back to the 1. Certain phrases here were reconstructed from sampling phrases of the original track and playing around with them at a different tempo and then overdubbing back to the grid.

This was an attempt at doing a pastiche of synthwave music. A couple days past the deadline i wrote a melody to go over it but haven't gotten around to mixing those tracks in yet.
