Katica Illényi:  Liszt award winning violinist, member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Artist of Merit of Hungary.

Katica Illényi comes from a classical music family. Her father Ferenc Illényi (1935-2007) - her first teacher - played in the Hungarian State Opera House. 
At the age of 14 she was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest to the class of “Special Talents”.

1971 – 1982. violin studies – violin private student, her teacher: Ferenc Illényi violinist of the Opera House in Budapest. 
Started to play the violin at the age of 3.

From 1996 to 2002, she was the singer and violinist of the Budapest Klezmer Band.
Her solo career began in 2002. She gives concerts each year, always with a new repertoire, arrangements made for her, accompanied by symphony and chamber orchestras. On her concerts gems of classical music and movie soundtracks, tangos can be heard. Next to Csajkovszkij, Paganini, Dvořák, Gershwin, Morricone, Piazzolla, Michel Legrand, John Williams, Hungarian composers like Bartók, Kodály Zoltán, Liszt Ferenc, Weiner Leo pieces are played also. 
She performed in US, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, UAE, Vietnam, Jordan and other counties.

Her performances build a bridge between the different cultures. She owns many gold and platinum records.
