The monologue, written by Sarah Kane, handles the subject of existential depression and medical-induced psychosis. We follow the mind of a character who has decided to commit suicide. This is a very personal story, however she’s voicing feelings that are universal. Feeling lonely, depressed, angry, etc. isn’t pretty and neither is this piece. It’s raw, real, emotional and gives us an inside scoop on how it feels to be depressed.
