I thought I was in love once and turns out at 23 I learned its best to stay single and let the good lord decide when its time for love. This song is about a man who is trying to move on from a past relationship and describes his aforementioned "love" and how he felt to express his pain and move on. Growing up I always loved to watch the rain storms with my Dad and he would get excited at watching the lightning shoot across the sky and hearing the thunder that came after.
