@Norman-Nodge is back with four new tracks of deep, narcotic techno. A lawyer by trade, on ‘Embodiment EP’ Nodge reflects on decades of observing how dancers develop an intuitive relationship to music and process new sounds. “Tacit Knowing” (A1) is a nod to the feedback loop between the instincts of dancer and producer, combining bassline, breakbeats and Detroit-like strings, which subtly develop into a cavernous techno roller. In contrast, “Discipline” (A2) is aggressive, updated peaktime acid packed with the sounds of metal and overdriven snares.

On the flipside, “Gathering” (B1) is a bongo-heavy tribal groover, while “Embodiment” references a more halcyon Ostgut Ton aesthetic – one that resonates not only in the space of the club but also within the bodies of those occupying it.

Dj Kush Boogie; an enigmatic and mysterious entity in which all we know of their existence is the alias comprises of two talented producers, supposedly from the southern hemisphere. The mystery surrounding the release bears no real surprise - this being their third in the series of supposedly unmarked offerings seemingly via London stalwart, Lobster.

Regarding the important thing here; the music, the series and this release alone is truly outstanding and standalone in it's approach. Those quick to judge may be inclined to pop the NZ duo in the 'lofi' box - however, it's so much more than that. Gristly saturation and glitched percussion shrouds the release as a whole, yet the club and floor remain at the core of each tracks aura. 'Dancers Cut' is no exception, anchored by sanguine keys, a bullish bass line and swathing vocal sweeps - all shelled by hallmark Kush twitched percussion and topped with a flute motif, catchier than the plague.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! If I was wrong on the date, I apologize, I honestly didn't think I was still going to the Limelight after 1993 and thats why I dated it earlier. 

Yes the sound quality isn't the best but like I said I snuck in a Sony portable DAT recorder and recorded it straight from the crowd from the floor level right below the DJ booth. 
While I was outside on line, the security guard frisked me at the door and was like "what the hell is that? You can't bring that in here!" I told him its just a walkman and he let me go in with it. I'm lucky to even have this bad recording to be honest.
While we were waiting for his set, Richard James walked by me and this kid I was with and the kid stopped him and asked "hey my friend snuck in a DAT recorder, can we record right from your mixer??? RDJ just laughed in his face, said NO! and walked away. Haha.

Back in the early 1990s when techno was just starting to explode in NYC, I snuck a portable DAT recorder into the Limelight nightclub when Richard James, The Aphex Twin was DJing a very rare live set. I recorded his entire 1hr set from the crowd and then put the DAT away for 25+ years. The other day with the help of my friend Tony Rodriquez (LUV4WAX)and his DAT machine, we finally made a digital copy of the set and finally uploaded it for all to hear. As far as I can remember, RDJ did only 2 live performances (one performance blew out the power to the entire club and left the place pitch black and silent for a few minutes!) and 1 DJ set at the Limelight during that time. I have never heard a live set from RDJ from the Limelight so this might be the only recording of this set (please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks!) The recording is loud and noisy just like 90s techno but I think its clear enough to enjoy. If you can ID any tracks to create a track list, feel free to post it in the comments!

Steve Murphy returns to Lobster Theremin for his debut solo album, curdling a molten mixture of metallic tones and stomping rhythms all culled from the electro, new wave, EBM and italo worlds.

Cold wave spoken word vocals shimmer, holla and wail from the depths of an 80's basement studio (Connessione Europa, Digital Fix Today); stomping italo rhythms take off with a flourish and wash, as they're bound onto the surface of poly synth dreams (Space Train, Mira Electronics); bastardised modular squelches and blips reveal a hidden underground lab (Ray Gun); modem-bleeping electro machine-worx and on-the-run basslines from 2125 (Disappointed, The Truth, Again); the end, when it comes, is a slow play-em-off jam. An italo electro elevator them tune gently carrying us up to a formerly erased dystopian level of this monolithic brutalist cuboid.

This mix was recorded live at a festival just before sunset on a lush summers day surrounded by the beautiful British countryside. I really enjoyed being able to start a bit softer than usual, whilst keeping things deep, sexy and groovy.
