Ever wonder what a feel-good, inspirational song inspired by and written during a global pandemic sounds like? Stand For You was inspired by a story, coming from alcohol and gambling addictions to sobriety, and then entering into a historical, global pandemic. This song is based on learning and growing during the lockdown and overcoming uncertainty, with the help of my wonderful partner. During this time, I reconnected with my spirituality, nature and met a brand new life friend Atim. In May, I released my single "Stand For You". 

I have a few more upcoming releases this year and hope to have two albums complete by the end of summer and late fall. I've worked hard on these tracks and put my heart into them. I wish to thank my partner Bobbie Starr. For supporting me and having to listen to this track over and over as I recorded and edited it. I also want to give a huge special thanks to Dale Mac. For his guidance, mentorship and wisdom in the writing, mixing and mastering of this record. I owe you a ton and appreciate your amazing work. Lucid - Mahihkan Music

Mahihkan Music is a representation of resilience, through tragedy in a path of grief, trauma and recovery. An Industrial, Rock, EDM music artist, based out of Regina, Saskatchewan. This journey started in 2001, to deal with the murder of his cousin, whom was like a brother. This inspired Mahihkan Music to put emotion into song writing and promote positive healing through music. Mahihkan Music performs in the genre of Industrial, Rock and EDM and sounds like a Tribe Called Red combined with Nine Inch Nails with a rock flavour of Guns and Roses. Influences are conceptual, industrial music artists with a tremendous stage persona. The bands Author and Punisher, Nine Inch Nails, Skrillex, Insane Clown Posse, Slipknot, Deadmau5 and Michael Jackson are major live show influences for Mahihkan Music. 

Mahihkan Music released a Rock demo CD in 2017. Songs include It’s Suspect, Dead Wrong and Cigarettes and Dust. Mahihkan Music then released an EDM song called Tears and Trials, dedicated to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in 2017. Mahihkan Music then released a single off of his Memoires of an Indigenous Artist album, entitled Lucid in 2020. Mahihkan Music played his first notable show in 2000 at the Regina Buffalo Days Exhibition on the Coca Cola stage with his late-father. Mahihkan Music performed his demo CD songs on the CJTR Radio Show The Cockpit and The Dale Mac – Artist in Residence Show in 2018. Mahihkan Music performed at the Casino Regina Show lounge with Shannon Rae as a guitarist. Mahihkan Music performed at the North Central Culture Days stage in 2018. From there, Mahihkan Music headlined the First Nations Safety Association Conference, in 2018. Mahihkan Music DJed at the Youth Symposium Info Gathering at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, in 2019. Mahihkan Music DJed, provided sound and lighting for the Indigenous Peoples Pavillion, Mosiac 2019, in Regina Saskatchewan. Finally, in 2020, Mahihkan Music was a guest DJ on the Robbie and Tigger Tik Tok Virtual, New Years Eve Dance Party. 

What is Mahihkan Music doing today? Mahihkan Music is working on completing his Memoires of an Indigenous Artist Album and preparing for summer of 2021, COVID safe shows. Other projects Mahihkan Music is working on is playing bass guitar for Alterra X and Djing for Paradise DJs. Once COVID safety is no longer a concern, Mahihkan Music will begin performing songs from his newest album, back in the live scene.
