This months mix is by Agonis from Basel, Swiss. Co-founder from the ‘amenthia recordings'. Together with his friends Varuna and Garçon (who runs Amenthia together with Agonis) they shaped this resilient and airy mini musical universe, operating in a world of techno, but far away from the heavy tenebrous Techno. 
Such a pleasure to share this fluid piece, propelling in subtlety. Make sure to check out Agonis recent album ’Neutropia’. 
His mix combines some major influences for ‘Neutropia’, tracks from the album and forthcoming stuff which will come out on ‘amenthia recordings’ this year.

Marseille-based art-techno-punk artist, under his Cardinal & Nun moniker, through his 2021 album on L.I.E.S completely flipped the script, fusing gothic vocals, raw guitars and analog sounds to huge acclaim. Exclusive to Curses’ "Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX" compilation, "Freak and Weak" is another startling track from the Frenchman, where haunting vocals, reverb-drenched guitar and skeletal rhythms align to sound like something that escaped from the same sessions that produced The Cure’s Faith LP.

Exclusive to Curses’ "Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX" compilation, the darkly surreal haunting romance "Freak and Weak", WL//WH is very pleased to premiere, is another startling track from Bodjollé where haunting vocals, reverb-drenched guitar and skeletal rhythms align to sound like something that escaped from the same sessions that produced The Cure’s Faith LP.

"Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX" is the second compilation for Eskimo Recordings compiled and curated by Berlin-based Musician and DJ Luca Venezia, aka Curses, to explore the darker side of club music. Spread across 3CDs and three 2LPs Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX features a mammoth 49 tracks that join the dots between early industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle, EBM legends like Nitzer Ebb and the post-punk experiments of people like Malcolm McLaren and Big Audio Dynamite with some of the most exciting artists around today, such as Boy Harsher, Nuovo Testamento and Years of Denial.
"Chapter 2" moves the night on, and this is the sound of the clubs I love to both play and just hang out in these days, clubs where the people involved put a lot more time into digging through the crates than working on their Instagram Reels. These are places where you're as likely to find a band on stage as you are a DJ, where 80's German electro-pop by a band like Boytronic seamlessly flows into tracks like Silent Servant’s 'Non Fiction'. Timeless music that can be romantic, dreamlike and ethereal one moment, then veer into dark, industrial sounds the next.

A shabby ice cream truck, serving up the flavor of crunchy dog hair, delivers our main guest: Ren Schofield, aka Container, the elegant master of rhythmic bombardment and nauseating noise. Whether he’s the perfect raver for punks or the ideal punk for ravers, fueled by guerrilla crackling and soaked in primitive analog techno, Container returns to Sameheads after 10 years to present his new album, Yacker.

Our next mix is made by Moopie. For those who don’t know, he’s running the great ‘A Colourful Storm’ label. 
The first time I encountered the label’s existence, was at the label’s inaugural release of the Denial - California Dreaming 7” EP. A sweet minimal wave interpretation of ‘California Dreamin’, most known by the version from the Mamas and the Papas. Re-issued by A Colourful Storm, delivered in a beautifully designed cardboard carton sleeve.
It’s hard to pick a few of the highlights from the label, but I’m gonna try by mentioning the Christoph De Babalon, Kallista Kult, and upcoming Désaccord Majeur 3 track EP (so nice!) material. 
Moopie is Beijing-born and based in Melbourne, Australia. His mix turned out to be a dreamy, mostly 90’’s IDM selection, getting more bleepy techno-ish towards the end. Thanks for this. Enjoy.
