It is a year since my father in law passed away. in the days after his passing I walked the beaches and reflected on both his and my loss. It resulted in this song. And now a year later, the emotion and the wonder of coping with the loss of a loved one are as poignant  and soul searching as they originally were. 

One morning, while on Maroochydore Beach, I reflected on the situation, and the emotion. I began thinking about what it is to die.  Those who are left behind are at a loss. But so too is the person who has passed on: no longer able to partake in the wonders of life.

I am sharing the song, not to get a bunch of likes and reposts, but rather in the hope that others living with similar experiences may take some comfort from the way I have tried to express such emotion.
We all admire the wonder of life. We should also come to terms with the realities of death. Life is precious. Live it to the fullest.

As the waves, splash around my feet
I watch the birds flying free,
Another day begins.

Th ere’s so much life all around,
Sand and sea they share their sounds,
