This is a song about the Mountain Hare, found on the uplands of Scotland and known for changing its coat to match the seasons. In winter, it turns its summer coat of brown to white to camouflage against the snow and hide from predators. Due to the increasing effects of climate change and reduced snowfall, the Mountain Hare is off kilter with the seasons and left beaconed on the hillside, making it more susceptible to prey.
