This version of the Artic Monkeys’ song was intended to be heavier than the original and to be closer towards the hard rock genre. This is a song I worked on for the Sound Production Practice 2 unit in my 2nd year at college. We recorded this piece leaning less heavily on close miking techniques, instead using spatial miking techniques more heavily, to give a more natural sounding final product. I was part of a group who set up the recording equipment, recorded the artist and mixed and mastered the piece. The audio was prepared in Pro Tools.

Love and Mercy (Sound Production Practice 2)

This was a piece of work I did outside of university, to further my Foley and sound design skills. It involved re-working the sound for a well-known Berlitz language television advert, into a radio advert-style format. I choose this as a project because I wanted to undertake a radio advert-style project for the first time, and it was an advert that was simple and very effective. I performed and recorded Foley, recorded other sound effects, performed one vocal, and recorded all vocals. I then edited and processed the audio and mixed the session. The audio was prepared in Ardour.

Berlitz Advert

(Jul 2017- Aug 2017)

This is an experimental piece I produced outside of college time. It is an abstract piece intended to portray common fears present in nightmares. This project was undertaken for primarily experimental reasons, and to improve my sound design abilities. I recorded sound effects, Foley, and vocals for this piece. Next, I edited and processed all audio and mixed the session. The audio was prepared in Ardour.
