Unfortunately, a live recording on the night itself was not possible. As a memento to this absolutely incredible night, this upload is a live recording (from memory and at the same tempo) of the set that I played, recorded from my home studio on the evening of Sunday 15th December.

ZoukOut is an annual dance music festival held in Singapore since 2000. One of Asia's biggest music dance festivals, it is organised by Zouk (club) Singapore. DJs that have performed at ZoukOut include Paul Van Dyk, 2ManyDJS, Masters at Work, Gilles Peterson, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Peter Kruder, James Lavelle, Armin Van Buuren and Stereo MCs. In 2013, ZoukOut attracted its largest audience ever, and was attended by 41,000 people.

Live recording of my warm-up set (9.45pm - 11.15pm, Saturday 11 January) for the charity edition of “Refuge”, the bi-monthly party at The Vault (Singapore), in aid of EmancipAsia and Lotus Culture, two Singapore-based not for profit organisations whose mission is to combat illegal human trafficking with a focus on the Asia-Pacific Region.

Human trafficking is a crime against humanity and the UN reports that 25 million people are trafficked globally each year for a multitude of purposes including sexual exploitation, domestic servitude and for forced and exploitative labour. This is modern-day slavery and it is happening everywhere around us.

Big thanks to everyone who came out to party and support the causes -- a fantastic total of $4365 in donations was raised during the evening!

Live At Canvas - Saturday 25 October 2014

This playlist comprises a collection of four short DJ sets that I performed live on Lush 99.5FM for DJ Chris Ho’s show, “A Taste of Lush” on 29th November 2014.

For the first time while DJ-ing, I was accompanied by a live musician, and I chose Hui Wen Tow, who performed live alongside me, on the cello. The cello has always been one of my favourite instruments, in particular because of the intense warmth and melancholy that it can simultaneously project, especially when played in lower registers. 

I have been curious for a long time about finding possibilities for this instrument to be successfully married with electronic music so I was excited about this project.

It was tricky for me to prepare for this show, because I wanted to play a broad range of styles that would accentuate Hui Wen’s sound nicely. Frankly, I wrangled over the playlist for weeks, and on the morning of the show still made final changes.

We met up once before the show, to run through my playlist and chat about the flow we wanted to create, but we had no rehearsals together and decided to let the cello element be purely improvisational. 

In the end, I was really pleased with how this turned out, and found myself having goose bumps at various moments during the show. One of those moments was when Hui Wen went into a beautiful free flowing passage when I played “Howling”, the first single by one of my favourite bands, The Howling. Her melodies really elevated the essence of the song to another level.  Another standout moment was her introductory accompaniment to David August’s remix of “Last Day” by Kollektiv Turmstrasse.

This experiment really got my cogs turning, and I will definitely be speaking to Hui Wen about future projects together. Thank you Hui Wen for doing this, and to Chris for having us on your show, (and for your kind words of appreciation).

Live recording of my countdown NYE set at Blu Jaz Café last night, complete with some dope MC work on the mic by Eric Foenander! As much as I will always love House music, I am grateful for the folks at Good Times for allowing me the freedom to express myself differently in my DJ sets for them. That openness is so refreshing and invigorating. And so, you will hear virtually no House music in this set, just a blend of different pieces of music that make me smile and dance. This was a truly happy and positivity charged evening, one that I will never forget. I hope you enjoy the music (my set starts 3 minutes in to the file). Thank you everyone who came and danced, and for your energy and love. The flow of this set was completely determined by you.

"At W Bali we continue our on-going support of the burgeoning local scene through our latest concept, Foundation. Having most recently given the current crop of Indonesian DJ’s a platform to show how good they really are, we have now extended this concept out to the wider region with a slight twist, as we handpick the finest and most talented resident DJ’s across the whole of Asia from some of the most recognised clubs and venues in the region. 

Resident DJ’s are the unsung heroes of clubland, they are the ones who are trusted to read and excite the crowd at either end of the night, and ensure the night is a textured experience taking everyone on a musical journey. Often the best of these are critically acclaimed by the headline acts despite not taking the glory, so we felt it is only right we give them the chance to showcase themselves and prove that The Foundation is what everything else is built on!

Live recording of my after hours set at the beautiful Marcel Tent on Day 3 of Wonderfruit Festival 2017.

After the two incredible sunrise closing sets at the Solar Stage by Nicola Cruz and Be Svendsen on Sunday morning, a few tired and weary super troopers wandered over to Marcel tent to lay their heads on the grass to recover, rest their senses and escape the scorching sun.
