MAXX ROSSI (Polymeric, Involve, Primate, Planet Rhythm) London/UK

Having cut his cloth in the London underground party scene, Maxx quickly cemented his reputation as a technically accomplished DJ with an ear for quality, genre - transcending techno. He then went on to headline and play parties in most of the major cities around Europe and beyond, with gigs booked as far as the USA and Thailand in 2019.

A formally trained piano player, and with a diploma in Music Technology and Sound Engineering, Maxx runs his own label Polymeric Records, works as Label Manager for Molecular Recordings, owned by Marco Lenzi, and he worked for 6 years as Label Manager for Austrian label Carbon Audio. He recently quit this position to concentrate on the work for Molecular Recordings. All of these labels are available on vinyl, as MAXX is still making a point of supporting the media. As a matter of facts, he still plays vinyl at his gigs.

After moving to London from Italy, where he was born, MAXX has released over 100 tracks on vinyl and digital on Polymeric, Planet Rhythm, Primate, Cluster, Suspected, Physical, Berlin Invasion, Carbon Audio, Noise Music, Generator UK, Killawatts, Open Source, Techno Sessions, Interstate One, Interstate Colour and many more, collaborating along the way with many great artists, like Orlando Voorn, Chris Liberator and Pounding Grooves. His work has also been remixed by some great Techno producers, like Steve Stoll, Orlando Voorn, DJ ESP aka Woody McBride, Jam El Mar from Jam & Spoon, Nihil Young, Dolby D, and Subject One, to name few.

MAXX productions are played and supported by many great DJs around the World: Dave Clarke, Amelie Lens, Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna, Alan Fitzpatrick, Marco Bailey, Ben Sims, Slam, Dax J, Joseph Capriati, I Hate Models, Kobosil, SHDW & Obscure Shape, Anfisa Letyago, Randomer, Regal, Nur Jaber, Claude VonStroke, Thomas P Heckman, Luigi Madonna, Frazi.er, Dr Motte, just to mention a few who play his tracks out in clubs, podcasts, or live radio shows.

Ever since getting the Opus Quad a few months ago I wanted to record some fresh mixes. I came across the Rolling In The Deep contest for their next event in Amsterdam and was keen on giving it a go. 

The deeper spectrum of Drum and Bass is among my favorite subgenres due to its versatile and innovative sound. This submission tries to encompass just that. I hope you guys enjoy!

Luca Beat is an Italian DJ and Producer from Tuscany.
He developed a passion for electronic music during his adolescence falling in love with Techno.  He immediately started performing in local venues in his hometown eventually reaching prestigious clubs such as Tenax in Florence Tinì SoundGarden and Drop Club for the Sonar event where he had the honor of sharing the DJ booth with several influential artists from the global Techno scene.  In September 2024, he released his EP “Forever” on Unity Recordings.  Luca Beat is an artist in constant evolution.

MERA (she/her) is a techno and Drum&Bass DJ based in The Netherlands.

MERA is a dynamic DJ whose journey began in February 2023. Inspired by the vibrant rave culture of her hometown, she quickly carved out a niche for herself in the electronic music scene. Specializing in high-energy Techno and Drum&Bass.

MERA specializes in two distinct yet powerful sides of techno: hard groove and hard techno.

In her hard groove sets, she dives deep into the hypnotic and percussive; high energy, with some shadowy spice and keeping it underground. Expect rolling basslines, story telling textures and a constant push forward, crafted to keep the floor moving.
On the flip side we have her hard techno sets. She is known for building momentum in her sets, mixing different flavours of hard techno, that eventually explode in an industrial soundscape. It's all about creating tension and unleashing it with force. 

Whether it's the driving pulse of hard groove of the raw brutality of hard techno, either set is meant to connect deeply with the crowd and take them on a journey through the dark and intricate edges of techno.

Like techno, MERA specializes two sub-genres of DnB, being minimal and neuro. Always navigating the spectrum of how to blend the two together for certain sets.

MERA's minimal sound focuses on a deeper soundscape and dark textures. Stripped back rhythms with a moody atmosphere. Creating tension, while also keeping the energy up.

In contrast we have her neurofunk side. High energy agression build-ups with some distorted basslines. Her love for the metal genre shining through her and there. Well thought out chaos for peak time destruction. 

Sometimes she keeps the two them seperate. Other times she merges them in a single journey. Starting with deep, omnious bass and grooves and evolving them in full-blown neuro energy. That contrast keeps the sets alive, unpredictable and constantly shifting.

Whether seperate or together, the goal remains the same: to create movement, connection and unforgetable energy on the dancefloor.
