"Created by CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) technologies, “IT’S A MATCH” is a parody of a short-lived, queer romance based from online dating experiences, namely Tinder. 

The short film exists in a world where queer spaces to connect with others are exclusively available online, only to be sponsored by the simultaneous gamification of online dating and constant surveillance and data collection. In this metaverse, there is no physicality of the “body”, only fluid identities rendered into pixels. 

Viewed through the lens in which technology can be both an emancipatory and oppressive tool for queer and trans bodies, “IT’S A MATCH” seeks to question how quickly we are to trust technologies, yet exist at the fringes of these institutions.   By Jocelyn Yan
