Babakins is a multi-genre producer from County Laois, Ireland. Babakins started his music career in 2018 when he and some friends used to get together and make hip-hop music, but gradually became more interested in the production side of it, rather than rapping. 

He began making hip-hop beats on GarageBand iOS and eventually moved on to Logic Pro X, where he really started to level up his game. Babakins continued making hip-hop beats and rarely dabbled in other genres.

 In 2023, he released his first dance track “Spirit”. Not only was Spirit his first release on all platforms since 2020, it was also his first time being played live on radio. DJ Jenny Greene of RTÉ 2FM came across his track “Spirit” and played it on her show in December of 2023. Since then, Babakins has made 15+ radio appearances on shows such as iRadio, Spin1038, Liffey Sounds FM and many more. He started out the year of 2024 with a list of goals, one of those being to have 5 radio appearances by the end of the year and had already beaten his goal in a short time. 

Babakins released his first song of 2024 titled “Business”, with Midas. “Business” originally started out as a Tyga / Club type of song, but every time Babakins listened back to it he felt as if there was something missing. On Christmas Day of 2023, he once more listened to Business and decided to challenge himself by remixing it into a house song, and the rest is history. Since the release of Business, Babakins has released several singles and dropped his Debut EP “Duality”. His most popular song on all platforms goes to his track “Who let the cows out?”, amassing thousands of streams on all platforms and also gaining some popularity on TikTok. 

2024 has been a big year for Babakins so far, and leaves him excited for what is to come in the future. He loves making music and still to this day, makes beats and not just dance music. He dropped one of his biggest & best songs in May with Xodrew, called “Losing Touch”. 

There is no shortage of creativity in the mind of Babakins, whether it be incorporating famous Irish Pop Culture into his songs, or thinking of unique names for his songs. Babakins takes making music very seriously, but also has a good sense of humour when it comes to naming some of his songs (Who let the cows out?, Robogarda, Lost Mary). 

Babakins is definitely one to watch for the near future, as his music grows in popularity each day and he continues to upgrade his production abilities with every release. He hopes to start DJ’ing soon and get some gigs under his belt to really become a staple of the music industry.
