This song comes from a recent break up after a three year relationship. The song is meant to focus on moving on after the break up and being there for yourself, while still struggling to get through the day. It's intended to be nostalgic, yet optimistic. Sad, yet upbeat. After a break up, you don't always want to cry. You get loud, you sing, you let it out. It's about appreciating the time you had, while still accepting the end. It's not your typical sad song, it's meant to make you smile again.

From The Ground is about the anxiety I struggle with and wanting to figuratively and literally escape. I wrote this song right before a show in October when the pressure pushed me to my breaking point, making it hard to even get out of bed.

As an artist, I constantly compare myself to others who I’m nothing alike. When others catch speed, you can’t help but to wonder if it’ll happen to you too and if you’re doing things right. I’m performing my music, stand up comedy and working full time in the film industry. In many ways it’s a dream come true, but also comes with so much weight.

Long story short, it’s about uncertainty. It’s about being at rock bottom and reaching up. It’s about a feeling of unimportance and being lost. It’s about dreaming for what could be when it currently is not. I don’t know where I’m heading, I’m just reaching up!
