Born in London, and having lived in both Cornwall, Sussex and the French Alps, the artist ClareCiel came to life during a chance meeting with Roland Fontana; a French songwriter/musician. 
Although from different cultural backgrounds, they very quickly realized they had similar musical tastes. ClareCiel spoke about her creative writing ‘hobby’ usually in the form of short stories and poems and her one time singing experience, covering in her own style the much loved Oasis track Wonderwall.
Later, Roland Fontana contacted ClareCiel and offered her the chance to participate in the co-writing of song lyrics for an up and coming French artist Crumble.
Following on from this, in January 2020 Roland contacted her once again requesting her lyrical suggestions; two weeks later he sent her a demo for the then unnamed first single, Normal People. 
The global pandemic that followed made all studio recording impossible and it was at this moment that Roland suggested that ClareCiel record the song in a home studio during lockdown. Roland liked the mellow romantic style that emerged from this collaboration.
Next step is ClareCiel first album.
