VPLS, a global provider for cloud-to-edge computing and technology services, has acquired a data center located in Santa Clara, California. The seller of this data center is Wave Broadband, which together with RCN Telecom Services and Grande Communications operates as a single business solutions organization to deliver fiber infrastructure solutions in more than twenty metro areas across the United States.

The renamed ‘SV3’ data center, formerly known as Layer 42/Wave Broadband data center, is a 30,000 square foot facility with 3MW of power, 24/7 security, and cross-connects to key Bay Area network carriers. For colocation clients wanting solid connectivity and uptime as well as direct access to over 20 native carriers, the SV3 data center presently has 1.5 MW of capacity available.
