This laid-back Jazz instrumental was originally written for piano, but it suits a slightly fuller arrangement. Here it is for a small Jazz ensemble, with trumpet and sax backed by trombone, bass, drums and electric piano. You can almost smell the cigarette smoke...

Autumn Leaves

This piece was inspired by two events: a violent thunderstorm, and an eerie orange glow on the horizon one night. The result is a story of dark visions and evil portents. Arranged for a classic metal line-up of drums, bass, two guitars and singer, it features a driving bassline and an insistent lead guitar riff.

"The Omen" by Altered Purpose

A lyrical piece for solo piano, evoking the life-cycle of a river. The piano's full range is required to tell the whole story, from gentle rain on the mountains to the river flowing into the sea.

The Secret Life of Clouds

I wrote this study in Rondo form years ago, but I dusted it off recently for a string quartet arrangement. The result really suits the music - I wonder why I never thought of it before!
