All White, To The Ground - Glassmen

“Farewell” confronts the past and present violences enacted against trans and queer people in the face of our imagined futures. Originally written for Trans Day of Remembrance, the song pays homages to fallen queer comrades and underlines the need for this Day: “And her life reported as a sham/ and her death reported as a trifle/ as they write how that manly man claimed his tainted honor with a rifle." On Earth, trans sisters and queer brethren are killed and erased by the the cis-hetero powers that be, the same powers standing to dictate the next chapter of humanity. We end the compilation with this warning and boldly call for radical change.

Even if we don't believe that we will reach the Singularity, we cannot deny how digital and human life influence one another. If we care about how people here and now live on this Earth, then we will be wise to think about how a more technologically integrated society might be shaped.
