Since debuting on Brendon Moeller’s Steadfast Records and seminal Scottish imprint Soma Records in the last couple of years, Roberto has become one artist that stands out from the crowd. More than your usual producer/sound designer, his own unique vision & spirit of his music of his music has helped to sculpt him as an individual. Using an array of analogue synths, groove boxes and more, Roberto has crafted more than just music with specific genre tags. He allows his artistic prowess to flow through each track making each one a living, breathing embodiment of himself.

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal. 

Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month we invite an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero- patriarchal systems of oppression.

This month we have invited @valentinomora (IDO)to respond to this concept.

@ligovskoi is an immersive audio-visual project founded in 2010 by Nikolaï Azonov and Valerio Selig. The pair invite the listener into a deep meditative state through their ambient, experimental and drone-focused productions and live performances. With releases on Field and Dement3d, among others, they also develop their sound and visual materials into installations. Their Patterns of Perception 57, introduced below in a short text by the duo’s good friend Victoire Kalamarides, is a serene example of the expansive and deeply contemplative atmospheres Ligovskoï creates.

"Ligovskoï’s set offers soundscapes of consciousness. Like a light that sounds through infinite spaces, the luminous property of their sounds sweep across waves of subtle body motions - one’s breathing patterns - and emotions. Shaping patches into a continuous breath, they present a deep session of inspiration. Their set’s movements give direction to a rain of vibrations that fills space into an electronic sound bath. 
Ligovskoï’s contemplative music supports the listener’s engagement to what is given to be heard. This journey’s sonic qualities resonate with the same qualities one possesses: luminosity, profundity - what one hears is what one is. It is as if the territories sounded by their modulations reflect one’s internal sphere; as to better hear that the limits between what exists outside and inside is porous; a constant be-coming. An envelope of resonance that wraps one’s body into rapture.
The listener’s mind navigates through sonic currents to progress from horizontality to verticality. 
Their measure has to do more with space and less with time: an invitation to take the time to carve more space. It is a profound music that has the ability to alleviate us from the weight of gravity; we feel lighter, like light. Through the final elevation we can find a spiritual revelation: a deep state of relaxation.

Yoshitaka Shirakura (Konvektion / Conflux)

Yoshitaka Shirakusa is a DJ who mixes noise, avant-garde, and techno. He individually transforms spaces with intervals of avant-garde, deep crawling grooves, and overtones of noise music interwoven together.

Aside from his solo DJ work, he is a member of the experimental DJ unit Fuguli with the musician Reizen. Together they host the party "Conflux" that navigates the border between techno and noise. In addition, he is involved in the organization of several parties spanning various genres such as “場”(Space), “震道”(Shindou), “Konvektion”, “Camp Off-tone”.

 He is also active as a photographer. Shooting live performances, artists, and so on, he primarily focuses on the production of works. He has begun performing bass guitar live in 2019, influenced from his experience as a production manager for the film “Document: Keiji Haino”.



ノイズ、アヴァンギャルド、テクノを混合するDJ。前衛的な間と地を這うグルーヴ、そしてノイズミュージックで培った上音を織り交ぜ空間を特異に歪ませる。
ソロとは別に音楽家 冷泉とのエクスペリメンタルDJユニットFuguliの右側であり、共にテクノとノイズを越境するパーティー"Conflux"を主催している。その他に"場"、"震道"、"Konvektion"、"Camp Off-tone"など、様々なジャンルのオーガナイズに関わっている。
  
写真家としても活動しており、作品製作中心にしながら、ライブ、アーティストなども撮影し、制作担当として映画『ドキュメント灰野敬二』にも関わる 
 
2019年よりベースギターを使ったソロライブを開始。
