‘The Birds’ are three tracks released together as the lead singles from the upcoming album, aptly named ‘Sketches’, due to its stripped down nature, is bejeweled by thematic undercurrents. 

‘Sketches’ serves to reintroduce listeners to Ackroyd’s most stunning pieces from her previous albums, all of which have been reworked into ‘acoustic’ solo piano arrangements alongside four brand new unheard pieces, which offer a taste of a new forthcoming record. The mini album sees a July release in preparation for a brand new full length album to be released in October, and One Little Indian will also reissue Ackroyd’s back catalogue on CD and vinyl alongside the new mini-album.

Shane Tyler is a bassist, producer and multi instrumentalist devoted to the healing powers of groove based sonic attunement. A founding member and bassist of Gardens & Villa and Amo Amo, Shane Tyler lives in Los Angeles and Nevada City California with his beloved partner Lainey and their Maine Coon cat Harlow.

The song lyrics were inspired by visiting the Crystal Hermitage and being transformed by the power of the small cathedral modeled after the one built by Francis of Assisi. This timeless small cathedral had such a beautiful serenity inside I felt like I could spend an entire day in quiet rapture. The walls were adorned with spiritual guides I have come to know and love as they have followed me throughout my spiritual quest. Although one can feel whole and healthy visiting a place of worship by themselves, I felt a further connection sharing the day with my partner and was pleased to know that we can find our own spiritual path yet have it become magnified and even more wondrous when sharing with each other. 
All I've ever wanted for my music is to make people feel like they were in transcendent bliss, just like this day. Whether it's the bliss of a place of worship perched high above the forest line, or the glorious daze of the dingy dance floor. May it wash over you in peace.
