This morning we talked about being bold enough to ask and were reminded how we serve the God of endurance.

God Of Endurance

Join us on a five-part series entitled Life on Mission. We will explore the five steps of the missionary task: Entry, Evangelism, Discipleship, Church Formation and Leadership Development. Be encouraged and challenged to rise above the mediocrity of our culture and through the power of the Holy Spirit be equipped to make disciples for Christ and become involved in building His kingdom.

Life On Mission: Leadership Development

First we have to be willing to listen but taking action is a game changer.  When we are obedient to God's Word and apply it to our lives, we are awakened to a life on mission to glorify the Father.

I pray this devotion brings joy by encouraging us to "focus on the things we can do something about and remind us of the things we are thankful for."

Be a Doer

We can know someone who is closer than a friend.  His name is Jesus and He offers us an "invitation to openly communicate with Him."  Let us cherish our friendships with others and seek to be the kind of friend that as John Newton once said "brings out all that is best, wisest, or funniest in all the others."

"Instead of wishing you could find a true friend, seek to become one."

"It is much easier to die than to lay down your life day in and day out with the sense of the high calling of God." If our time, talent and resources truly belong to God, how should that impact our daily walk? Are we being active in discipling others to grow in their faith in Christ? Let's discover how "the God who gives endurance and encouragement allows us to live in harmony with one another."

Lay It Down

Striving, climbing & stretching to grow personally and professionally? We would like to think "If I only work hard enough and achieve "fill in the blank" I will finally be happy and content." What is that "fill in the blank" for you? A family you can call your own, financial freedom, a successful business, purchasing a home or vehicle. What if we flipped the script and our ambitions were filtered through God's word? How different would our achievements look and would they last throughout eternity? Do you hear Him calling you to step out of your comfort zone to introduce people to His Son, Jesus? If you choose to answer that call, it will be the adventure of a lifetime!

Godly Ambitions?

The world is a broken place. It doesn't take long to figure that out as you advance in years and witness people you love doing things that are a detriment to their physical and spiritual health. Being a blessing to others opens a door to let them know you care and gives you the opportunity to share your story of redemption. Yes, we are all plagued by sin and it's harmful effects. The good news is we have a Savior that was born in a manger, lived the perfect life, was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and conquered death so that we can no longer be a slave to sin in our lives. We can now live for God and be a part of the amazing adventure of sharing the good news of the gospel. Jesus saves!

Be A Blesser

We all do it. Sometimes it is in front of people and for some of us, we do it when we are alone. We like to talk to ourselves. The question is what are we talking to ourselves about? Are we reminding ourselves of God's promises or filling our mind with negative thoughts that are not supported by the Bible? If you can't get along with yourself, how difficult it is going to be to get along with others? Let's be reminded that when we are "held by the grip of God," we can press forward to growing closer to Him and are reminded of His endless mercy and grace.
