About five years ago, I resolved to record a song for my first album whose lyrics and sound were 100% affirmative.  No detours into darkness, no thunder in the distance, no maniacal laughter, no hint of angst: A soundtrack for waking up and taking on the world.  This was that song.

A song about the irrevocability of time's passage, how we always think there'll be more of it for the important things in life and how, for me personally and for the human race, there are probably fewer days ahead than behind.

One day after writing the Manifesto, Karl Marx walked past a raucous meeting of local Marxists.  He was dismayed at all the yelling and blood lust he heard as he walked by.  A little later, he said, "If they're 'Marxists', what am I?"
Some days, just some days, I can't help wondering if Jesus doesn't feel the same way.

"WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?"

The Canadian people dare not forget the atrocities that our ancestors committed against the children of Peoples whom they had named savages.  Nor can we forget the myriad injustices that we continue to commit against Peoples with whom, on paper at any rate, the British Crown had supposedly forged a "Nation-to-Nation" relationship.  There can be no reconciliation without truth.
