Lift Every Voice and Sing Mix2

A concert piece for special holiday programs such as New Year's Eve concerts. Ideal for a New Year's Eve countdown, this piece starts with the celebratory  Fanfare for Midnight, (kissing encouraged) followed by sing-along chorus and then a romping party version of Auld Lang Syne and wraps up with the fanfare again. 
This orchestration is intended to be performed "as is" in terms of instrumentation, and is sight-readable by any professional orchestra. This is done so that the arrangement can be successfully performed on a moment's notice.
The choir is optional and this can be performed as an audience "sing-along"as is common.

If resources or stage space is limited, I offer the following suggestions:
The instruments marked with an asterisk* could be omitted.
The piece can be performed without these if necessary.
Any of the instruments marked * can be present. Of course using the optional instruments  in a logical and balanced way will yield best results for a smaller scale group. 

The Piatti and Gran Cassa parts can be played on the drum set if the extra players aren't available.
 
If resources and stage space permit, the string section should be at least: 
6 violin I, 6 violin II, 4 violas, 4 cellos, 2 contrabasses.
I suggest the minimum string section be 4 violin I, 4 violin II, 2 violas,, 2 cellos, and 1 contrabass.

Harp Stories is an album project that began as a creative effort by Bruce Healey to compose music for solo harp with the intent of adding to the body of classical harp repertoire. This has resulted in the piece entitled Harp Set.
Bruce Healey and Alexander Boldachev met at Alexander’s concert in Los Angeles. Impressed with Alexander’s encyclopedic knowledge of the harp, and his virtuosic technique, Bruce asked Alexander to give feedback on the movements Bruce had written. This resulted in the incorporation of many performance techniques that have brought a varied color palette to Bruce’s compositions and gave rise to the idea of making a recording of Alexander performing the five-movement piece, as well as recording five pieces composed by Alexander himself.

Harp Set V - Chroma

Trois Fantaisies Ou Caprices Op 16 No 2

Available from www.allsunmusic.com This piece is based on the song “Chicken Reel,” a dance tune which was composed and published in 1910 by Joseph M. (Michael) Daly (1883–1968), with copyright registered on October 7, 1910. Joseph Mittenthal added lyrics three months later, and the texted version was copyrighted on January 12, 1911 (Wikipedia).
Bars 1–19 are intended to musically represent a barnyard of chickens. If the capability is available, a recording of sparse chicken clucking could be added to these bars either by the pianist triggering a sample or an audio engineer triggering the recording from another source.
The harp part is optional.

American Fantasy - Band version

This is a three movement piece that is a tribute to the Ranier Family. Lou, Peg and Tom are dear friends who are inspiring people. Tom is a great musician who plays piano (all keyboards), clarinet and saxophone as well as a photographer. His father, Lou who was himself a wonderful clarinet and saxophone player, inspired him to pursue music. Peg, Tom's mother was a wonderful lady, a singer and most importantly, the matriarch of the family with an enduring spirit.
The performers on these recordings are Tom Ranier and Phil O'Connor on Bb clarinet and the legendary Gene "Cip" Cipriano on Bass Clarinet.
My hope is to incorporate a photo presentation to go along with the music and tell the story of this unique and inspiring family.
