The George is a 5 piece Garage Pop outfit hailing from the eastern suburbs of the capital city. 

Formed back in 2012, while the members were still in school, The George played sold out shows in and around Pretoria as well as scoring top 10 radio hits off their first album “Forest Eyes”, riding the then big wave of indie folk. 

Taking a short break, The George returned in 2015 with a new full band line up and a fresh aesthetic, leaning more towards artists like Kings of Leon, The Hives, and Alabama Shakes. The George started performing again in early 2016, opening for bands like Black Cat Bones, Wolfgang Marrow, Hallo Beautiful, and playing at Andre Kriel’s prestigious Country and Blues Collective hosted at the Good Luck Bar. 
Proving that they were onto something special, The George started getting some traction in 2018, landing slots at Misty Waters, The Free State Folk Festival, and Oppikoppi 24: Nomakanjani’s James Phillips stage. 
Last but not least, The George will be releasing a brand new 4 track EP, titled ‘Constantia Sessions’ in August 2018, and will be available on all major streaming services, as well as a physical release.
