In John 15:18-25, we find Jesus explaining to the disciples, that people will hate them as much as they hated Him. And it’s all because of this message of love. Turnstiles are effective at controlling the flow of a crowd. Typically, they consist of 3 arm bars, that rotate to allow one individual to proceed at a time. Jesus refers to a narrow gate as the entry point that leads to life. Like a turnstile, the narrow gate only allows one individual to proceed at a time. Thus, salvation is based on a personal, individual relationship with Jesus.
