Welcome back to Dissecting the Magic, a podcast designed for you, our fellow Harry Potter fans. In this exciting first instalment we discuss one of the Wizarding World’s most infamous wizards Professor Severus Snape, Potions master, death eater, defector and spy. Working to fight a battle from both sides, we find out what really brought Snape into being? What made Snape so cruel and vindictive yet so frightened and broken? We discuss all this and more in this week’s podcast.

So today we go from Snape the mean-spirited potions master to Snape the Spy, an anti-hero fighting an unseen battle. Who is Snape fighting for? He who must not be named? Dumbledore? Or someone else? As we delve into Snape’s past we finally find the answers we are looking for and shed some light on the man we love to hate.

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, eccentric headmaster of Hogwarts Schools of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The most powerful wizard of the century and yet so kind and compassionate. In this week’s podcast we delve into the “Life and Lies” of Albus Dumbledore, from his troubled childhood to his meteoric rise to fame and academic success. Dumbledore won awards and was tipped on many occasions to be the Minister of Magic, Yet what lies behind his mask of kindness and care, what secrets lurk deep in Dumbledore past that make him such a mysterious and feared figure.

So far we have delved deep into the magical world of these characters and now we delve even further to find the truth. Who was Dumbledore? Really? Who do you think he is? 
We wonder together to find out how far Dumbledore will really go for “The Greater Good”. 
Power and fear drive Dumbledore to this point in the books but what went on before this and did Dumbledore succeed for the Greater Good. 
Come with us on this journey into the deepest thickets of guess work and speculation.
