Russian Producer Volta Cab presents himself in MM Discos with Balearic Balsam EP. The record explores the borders of the sound that was born in the white island, blending it with a “new-wave” oriented vibe. On the A side, Saint Petersburg based producer, shows us what he likes the most partying obscure rhythms with summery-soothing atmospheres. On the B side, the talented Greek producer “Anatolian Weapons” takes over the control by remixing Shujumi. We've the remix by Pletnev premiering via us today.

For our fifteenth release we are pleased to introduce Selva debut’s on GLBDOM with Duffel Bags EP.
Selva is producer and occasional DJ hailing from Merida, México who produces a sample based house sound for both home and club use on his old computer.
This EP is a house incursion into the old school hip-hop subculture and sampling techniques. Jazz and soul loops and cuts vandalized with urban noise and covered in dazed out synths. Some tracks are aggressively energetic like the opener "Duffel Bags" and the East coast styled "NY1994", while others like "Electric Sheep" and "Sampled Dream" offer mellower grooves for easy listening.

Next up on Lyssna Records is no other than Aspetuck from the great state of New York. He's a friend of the label and one of the hardest working producers around. We're immensely proud to be given the privilege to release his four track masterpiece "Lost the Key". The EP is full of swirling 303s, off kilter beats and synth laden soundscapes, ingredients we love here at Lyssna HQ. "Lost the Key" is slated for a Bandcamp exclusive release on the 3rd of September before it hits streaming services and other online boutiques a bit later.

PREMIERE: Aspetuck - Rhythmloop

In @in2stellar's remix of "Shaped Curve" they hone in on the vocal hooks of the original left-field pop meets emotional drum and bass track, turning them into trance hooks underpinned by a left-field techno and electro drum groove. The outcome is an exciting and full of life track that feels perfect for daytime and basking in the sun this coming Summer.

Moxie’s On Loop label is back with a new release from Eternal Ocean label founder Ronan. The new EP,Interdépendence, follows on from his highly acclaimed debut album ‘Reflections On Intrinsic Value’ and further contributions to labels such as Pressure Dome, Vanity Press and Jungle Gym. Ronan’s productions are described as ‘aquatic sounds for healing’ and this release for On Loop is no different. Very much driven by percussion, the EP opens with a trippy dub-infused ‘Sudor De Alma’, whilst the second track ‘Interdependence’ showcases a more emotionally driven production, filled with blissful, ethereal pads and hypnotic vocal samples. It’s a moment of reflection before picking things up again on ‘Geodesis’ where excitable drum patterns lead the way, bringing you to the centre of the dancefloor. ‘Morning Glory’ rounds off the EP in glistening style - the perfect sunrise anthem.

FuFu Records A&R (@MLCH) presents ‘88 - Double Happiness’ project, a compilation series of 8 tracks from Asian electronic music artists.
88 - Double Happiness comprises a mix of well-known artists and emerging talented producers who are showcasing the new sounds of Asia. It sonically explores the electronic musical scene coming all the diversity of Asian countries.

Each artist brought their own flavour to the compilation with their unique sounds and dance-worthy beats.

Sounds from another universe, let me take you deeper into Squamata, where I was born...

Taken from the album 'Return To Planet X'trapolis' out now on LKR Records

I had a lot of fun putting this track together over quite a long time, working in the triplet grid this track can be played perfectly in sync with either 100bpm or 150bpm tracks. The main break and some of the kick drums were created from one of my favourite ever natural sounds: the sound of a frozen lake thawing and snapping in spring time.. There are some other found sounds in there as well but it was also the first time I was able to use the clone of my favourite synths of all time the Syncussion Sy-1m.

Pictures like the one attached that belong to the 'Journal Of Experimental Biology' (https://jeb.biologists.org/) as well as BBC's ©Paul D. Stewart have been used as a huge source of inspiration along the way whilst writing the Album. I thought i'd share some of these as for this particular track they I feel they're a perfect match for the sound.

Reptant 'Forrest Of Squamata' [LKR Records]

Midheaven Records launches in 2021 with 'Force Majeure', the debut EP of Sydney/Eora-based amuwa (@a-m-u-w-a), aka 25-year-old Joshua Deering. Born and raised in the urban sprawl of Sydney CBD, Deering now brings 10 years of musical development to a head, where design and feel seamlessly enmesh. The EP draws from formative experiences immersed in the sounds of city noise, industrial zones, natural amphitheatres, and packed dance-floors. Familiar strains of electro, trance and bass music shift and meld into new, hybrid forms, driven by a synthetic-organic logic. Roiling subs and propulsive drums are engineered for impact, couched within mutating synth arrays. Untraceable oddities click, whirr and hum around the stereo field—subtle changes reward repeat, deep listening. Over four tracks, amuwa re-centres the whole body as listening technology—pursuing a trance-state that is grounded in the dance, not just for the head(s). This is a formidable debut.
