Oh the humans are out of town

Loving this time of year
the coast is always clear
Glowing in the sky
Celebration of the fireflies

Two stepping snakes moving bodies on the floor
Mistletoe mice sharing kisses by the door

Christmas 2016 - Festive Chickens

Weary travelers wait to move on
Sitting by a fire side fighting the fog.
Summoning the courage for what has to be done.
Terror in eyes of all before it’s begun

Listening to stories from the old vagabonds,
Dragons in the east and evil darkness beyond.
Demon’s dragging sinners to depths of the Lake, 
Fear the dead and burn the bodies black at the stake.

Panic spread the poison in the paladin crowd
Some voices rose above the crippling doubt

Some men succumb and some men succeed
Are you in a place of want or a place of need?	
We burnt down the bridge, there is no return, no
We must take all that our blood can earn

Captive by a fear are those who would stay behind 
Fully conquered by the beast inside of their mind
Conviction moves the righteous and the righteous advance
Holy warriors marching off to forsaken lands.

Mercy for the sinners as the noble arrive
Tongues of flame upon the flesh the Devil gives life
Falling from the heavens, broken wings, as they die.
Journey on departed son’s,
Glory in the sacrifice
Remnants onward, through the night
Legacy of good men survives

Rays of God down shine upon them
Map of magic etched across the sky
Through haunted cities they meet their Deities

The beast, it lingers
For those who lingered
Death was waiting
Fear will bring her

When the brave had walked away the slaughter began, 
Left alone without the men who would take a stand. 
Craven on their knees, and the nightmare released
